The reunion between fellow SwissCham Founding Fathers took place in early April 2026 at the Mandarin Hotel Jakarta, in very friendly atmosphere and to relieve longing for each other by remembering times and stories full of memories and humor, especially in the early days of SwissCham Indonesia’s formation. The reunion hosted by Wolfgang Schanzenbach who visits Indonesia after 3 years back home in Zurich-Switzerland.
The friendship between the founders of SwissCham Indonesia continues to this day, even though some of them no longer live in Jakarta or even outside Indonesia, and are busy with their respective jobs, business and professional lives.
SwissCham Indonesia was launched on August 1, 2018, coinciding with the celebration of Swiss National Day. The first General Meeting of Members was attended by the Switzerland Ambassador to Asean, Indonesia and East Timor at that time and around 50 companies that had participated and committed to being part of SwissCham Indonesia.
Currently the number of SwissCham Indonesia members is more than 70 companies (both Swiss and Indonesian companies), showing very encouraging development. The development also demonstrates the confidence in the performance, activities, reliability and benefits felt by SwissCham member companies since the organization was founded.
Luthfi Mardiansyah was the first Chairman of the Board of Management of SwissCham Indonesia, served from 2018 to 2020. He was subsequently appointed as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, where he remains to this day.
SwissCham Indonesia was established with the main goal of enhancing trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Switzerland and Indonesia. More specifically, it is to enhance the bilateral relations of the two countries, provide continuous support for SwissCham member companies, facilitate dialogue with stakeholders to address business issues and advocate policies that support the business environment, as well as to be a meeting place for SwissCham member companies to find business partners and subsequently facilitate collaboration.
The founders of Swisscham Indonesia have demonstrated their leadership both in their respective business organizations and have also laid a strong foundation for the future sustainability of SwissCham.
Currently, SwissCham has shown its strong presence, as a government partner in enhancing the economy and trade between the two countries, respected by other foreign chambers of commerce and valued by its members.
