Jakarta, 3 November 2023. Chairman of Chapters Indonesia, Luthfi Mardiansyah, met and discussed with Prof. Muliaman D Hadad, former Chairman of Masyarakat Ekonomi Islam Indonesia, former Chairman of OJK, and currently as the President Commissioner of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI).
Topic of the discussion was Sharia Health Ecosystem as part of Sharia Economics and Finance development. During the discussion, both agreed that education and literacy on shariah concept is still need to be improved among the public. The road map of Sharia Economics and Finance need to be developed, including the road map of Sharia Health Ecosystem.
The sharia health industry is an ecosystem and does not only involve sharia health service provider institutions such as sharia hospitals but also other industries including; halal pharmaceuticals, halal food, beverages and healthcare professionals.
It is necessary to make a roadmap for the development of a sharia health ecosystem, which can meet peoples needs for sharia-based health services and integrate the development of the health industry, not only hospitals, but including the development of halal products locally, supported by technology and sharia finance industry (sharia banking, sharia insurance etc).
Furthermore, there will be several discussions among stakeholders include authorities, business players,sharia economics and health observer and academics.
